how to grow dill

 listening to powerwolf right now. sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. it's cold out today, after a nice string of warm weather, which kind of sucks, but hey, what can you do. work was easy today and I got to team up with Jessie, who I like, so my day has been good so far. yesterday at the grocery store I saw a guy who I thought might be Gabriel, my first boyfriend. that made me feel like someone plucked a cord within me and set my soul vibrating between my internal organs. I felt horrible and uncomfortable because I never want to see him again. luckily it was just some random guy with an indescribably bleak and oppressive aura. I hope to never see him again, as well.

well, today I'll introduce Luros. pronounce the name LOO-roh-ss. she's one of 5 numen who each occupy a spot on a scale of least to most magical, her being the second most magical and possibly my favorite character.

so... she's cursed, like all the numen, and has a corresponding blessing. her curse is that something will always be missing. she'll always have to make do with what she has, never finding wholeness or completion. her blessing is resourcefulness, meaning she's very gifted at making do with what she's got and finding a solution even when it seems that she doesn't have what it takes to attain one.

Luros has black hair. just plain black, not blue-black or ultra dark brown, actual stark black. her skin is pale, and her eyes are gray like a cloudy sky. she stands 8 feet tall and likes to smell like different kinds of nuts (peanut, hazelnut, pecan, almond, etc.) Luros, at the present point in time, has abandoned her role as numen and descended to the level of human rulers. She split her essence into two different individuals: Tenalia Luros and dark(I haven't picked a name yet) Luros. Tenalia Luros, in the split, received all of the traits that make a good person, a good mother, a good ruler, etc. she's as close to perfect as anyone can get. She presides over a city state and is possibly the best thing the humans in that world have going for them. The other Luros, however...
  in the split, all those good traits went to Tenalia, leaving only leftovers for this poor girl. Where Tenalia is patient, understanding, caring, wise, humble, honest, assertive, helpful... dark Luros is moody, dismissive, headstrong, selfish, brash, arrogant, vain, cunning, hypocritical, slippery, fickle, capricious, and apathetic to the suffering of others. sporadically, she'll display traits of Tenalia, but for the most part, she's very much the counterweight to the goodness of the other. yes, she resents this. Tenalia is beloved and celebrated. dark Luros is feared and hated, which she relishes and dislikes at the same time. all this through no true fault of her own; she was actually made this way and has no way of helping it.
  however, she's not all bad. she wants very much to be loved. she'll help some people; just only if they're her current favorites. she's boundlessly affectionate and generous with them. Tenalia is more independent, not to mention impartial; as loving as she is, she knows that favoritism doesn't lead to anything good. 
  dark Luros is the leader (by right of her own strength alone) in an outcast colony. people cast out from Tenalia's city flock to this colony... assuming they're allowed to enter. she has very strict standards on who she will allow in (she is unapologetically discriminatory). the colony itself, once you enter, is lawless and chaotic.
dark Luros lives for the day she is reunited with her literal better half and becomes complete again. Tenalia fears their reunion.
